CFS Foundation – ElectraNet Fellowships will be available to assist SACFS volunteers planning to study either overseas and/or within Australia. This may take the form of attendance at an international conference, a formal course of education or training or through programs with other agencies to advance their education and/or professional standards as a SACFS volunteer firefighter.

Application Criteria

To be eligible for a CFS Foundation – ElectraNet Fellowship applicants must be serving volunteer members of the SACFS who:

  • are Australian citizens aged over 25 years
  • have more than 10 years of exemplary service
  • have demonstrated qualities of leadership
  • have prerequisite training, qualifications or experience that equip them to succeed in the proposed learning opportunity
  • can demonstrate an ability to benefit South Australia and the CFS by sharing their knowledge and experience.

Future Leaders

The CFS Foundation – Future Leaders Course is available to CFS volunteers (aged 18 – 30) with a demonstrated commitment to service of at least 2 years. The Future Leaders Course aims to inspire and assist young volunteers to increase their leadership potential through education and development opportunities. Working with the SACFS Youth Advisory Council (YAC), a 2-day Frontline Leadership program has been developed.

This program will provide knowledge and information that enables participants to develop operational leadership skills in:

  • Leadership principles and styles
  • Needs, beliefs and values
  • Group dynamics
  • Teamwork
  • Effective communication
  • Mentoring
  • Goal setting
